This piece is in original, beautifully-maintained condition and, whilst its rich patina clearly reflects the frequent employment it has seen in the past, it is reassuringly free from fault, flaw or damage. Its fine order reflects the TLC and considerate use afforded it in the past but, as you should realistically expect from pieces of this covering and nature, there are a number of superficial, minor imperfections to be found.
In this case, there are a number of modest, minor, superficial marks to the leather, which is almost inevitable on a buttery-soft, supple hide of this kind which, in our humble view, only really serves to add to its air of relaxed grandeur and authenticity. Treatment with leather food/polish would restore the pieces back to a more uniform, consistant and unmarked appearance should that be desired, but that decision will be left to the tastes of the buyer.
With it being blessed with the kind of personality, character and patina that is rarely found and impossible to recreate, would you really want it any other way? Perhaps, but, that said, and as the images provided will attest, these issues prove to be of little significance and, rather than being mentioned because they detract from the beauty of the pieces, are mentioned purely for the purposes of accuracy.
