On offer on this occasion is a rare, sublime, entirely-original, 6-seat “Ocean” L-shape sofa, mostly covered in a pale-taupe neutral-linen fabric, with pale-gold silk back-cushions, and manufactured by the preeminent French interiors-maison, Christian Liaigre.

As you will no doubt be aware by your interest in the creations of this doyen of interiors, Liaigre seating is the epitome of contemporary European furniture design, is of peerless quality, and exhibits detailing and execution of the highest standard.

In a world of temporary pleasures, Chritian Liaigre creates beautiful furniture that remains a joy forever.

This piece is in superb, impeccably-maintained condition, having seen light, irregular use in its previous home, and is almost entirely free from fault, flaw or damage. Its hugely handsome order reflects the TLC and considerate use afforded it in the past but, regrettably, is some distance from perfect due to possessing a number of light but visible marks (caused by some isolated spot-cleaning) which, as the images provided will confirm, cannot help but catch the eye under close-inspection.

However, all is far from lost as, if perfection is preferred or demanded, this is an ideal candidate for being recovered back to A1 condition (requiring £2000 in labour costs and 36m of fabric, so could be back to its pristine, imperious-best for an additional £2500-£3000 of spend) which we can organise on behalf of the buyer (using our expert-upholsterer, who is well-qualified to do such a piece justice) upon request.

That said, and for the avoidance of doubt, please view the numerous images provided to confirm the superb, but clearly-compromised condition and appearance of this stunning piece. A true classic of modern furniture design presented in an impeccable, but far-from ideal, condition.

Whilst it clearly could not be considered anywhere close-to perfect due to the reasons stated above, it would possibly meet the requirements of the more-relaxed, philosophical buyer who would be delighted to us it as-is (perhaps in a family-room where kids and animals have free-run) or indeed the perfectionist if fully-recovered as we suggest and, for someone looking for a sofa of peerless design and execution to position at the heart of their home, this is truly heaven sent! Without question, this superb sofa possesses all the beauty and majesty you would expect from one of the finest contemporary seating manufacturers in the world.

Dimensions-wise, the measurements of the sofa are H-74cm, W-340cm (across the back of the sofa) and D-280cm (along the chaise-section), and the breathtaking seating position this iconic modern-design creates is enhanced by the use of sumptuously comfortable, generously-upholstered feather-filled back and composite-seat cushioning, which leaves you powerless to resist its charms. Not only does it possess an aesthetic to die for, but it is so comfortable too!
