Mint George Smith “Early Victorian Chesterfield” Sofa in Zimmer & Rohde Fabric – 2 Available

Price - £4900

On offer on this occasion is one of the most stunning, modern-English pieces of furniture you could hope to find.

This is an ultra-rare opportunity to acquire what is, unequivocally, the best of the best, it being a most spectacular, immaculate, sensationally-presented “Early Victorian Chesterfield” Large 3-Seat sofa (one of an identical pair available currently) recently fully-renovated back into as-new condition by a private client in an impossibly-elegant and demure combination of Zimmer & Rohde “Loft” Woven-Fabric in a natural Pale-Cream Linen hue and a complimenting Zimmer & Rohde Patterned Cut-Velvet cloth (name unknown) with a Metallic-Gold background and Pale-Cream Raised-Velvet detail, with numerous scatter-cushions supplied in the Cut-Velvet cloth, and dark-hardwood legs with brass castors all-round.

As you will no doubt be aware by your interest in this listing, pieces of this nature offered for sale by Lord Browns are the epitome of classic English furniture design, are of peerless quality, and exhibit detailing and execution of an unrivalled standard.

In a world of temporary pleasures, George Smith craftsmen create beautiful furniture built to last a lifetime, with there being no finer, or more beautifully appointed, example of their work than this.

These pieces are something of a curate’s egg as, whilst being renovated, the previous owner took the opportunity to have the deep-buttoning to the seat removed to create a flat, fixed-seat instead (deep-buttoning to the seat can be real fluff and dust-catchers, which was an issue they wanted to address fully and finally) and to have the standard, thick-turned un-castored leg replaced with something altogether slimmer, more-elegant (to their mind) and finished with a brass-castor to allow these great hunks to be more-portable if required. So, whilst its appearance is certainly different to the typical, factory-standard “Early-Victorian” model you may be familliar with, it remains undeniably-handsome and stupefyingly-impressive nonetheless.

That said, this piece is in mint, impeccably-maintained condition, having never been employed since the recent renovation mentioned above, and is entirely free from fault, flaw or damage. Nothing short of pristine, perfect and divine.

Please view the images provided closely to confirm its exceptional condition and appearance. A more handsome, elegant and unassumingly-spectacular large-scale sofa is almost impossible to imagine.

Its dimensions are a substantial H-71cm, W-246cm and D-106.5cm, and the breathtaking seating position this striking contemporary-design creates is enhanced by the use of sumptuously comfortable, generously-upholstered deep-buttoned back and fixed-seat cushioning, which leaves you powerless to resist its charms.

Costing over £9000 when new, and having had a small-fortune spent on it when recently renovated in these hideously-expensive Zimmer & Rohde cloths (only to find itself surplus to requirement at the end of a renovation project), it represents spectacular value for money, and we have no doubt it will serve and delight its new owner for many years to come.

Remarkably, and as mentioned earlier, this piece is one of an identical pair of “Chesterfield” sofas available currently so, should anyone wish to take advantage of this rare opportunity to acquire both pristine examples (they look incredible when employed together), feel free to get in touch to discuss.

Delivery of this piece to most UK mainland addresses will cost £120, and can be organised on behalf of the winning bidder upon request using one of our hand-picked panel of specialist, fully-insured independent furniture couriers.
